Ex-Sun Pharma CIO Atanu Roy joins Biocon as Group CIO

Atanu Roy stepped down from Sun Pharma and has joined Biocon as Group CIO. Biocon is an Indian biopharmaceutical company founded by Kiran Mazumdar Shaw which manufactures generic active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Bangalore based Roy will be leading Biocon’s technology domain and will support the business with new IT and digital innovations.
Prior to this new role, Roy served a stint of five years at Sun Pharma as CIO. He has also been associated with leading global companies such as Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, HP Services and more. He has extensive experience in conceptualizing and implementing innovative technologies that drive business outcomes and build competitive advantages.
Roy has completed his graduation in engineering from IIT-Kharagpur and masters in business management from IIM-Calcutta. He is a seasoned IT professional with global exposure to working in pharmaceutical and other industries.
