Vodafone Idea’s 20% of sales team quits: Repor
By MYBRANDBOOK
According to a news report, Vodafone Idea has witnessed the quitting of 20% of its sales team over the last few weeks, industry sources said. The telecom operator has lost about 38.1 million mobile subscribers in the 19 months till October, and had 245.62 million total mobile subscribers as of October-end.
The report said that the company is looking for replacements. In its LinkedIn page the company has listed 1,905 vacancies for hiring in roles such as AGM - prepaid Marketing Specialist, AGM - Prepaid Marketing, AGM - Marketing Analytics, among others.
A Vodafone Idea spokesperson, however, told the news source that staffing at the telco was at a “healthy level of 95%” of planned positions. “Our attrition is in line with market and industry trends and lower than some comparators.”
The report also mentioned that over the last four financial years the permanent employee count of Vodafone Idea has fallen to 35%. As on March 31, 2022, the permanent rolls at the company stood at 8,760 as compared to 13,520 in FY19 – the year of the merger of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular. In FY20 and FY21, the company’s permanent employee count was at 11,486 and 9,174, respectively, it added.
