Krafton permanently bans over 58,000 Indian users for cheating

South Korean game developer Krafton permanently banned 58,611 accounts of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) users last week, for using illegal programs in the battle royale game and said that it “was trying to ruin the game” as well.

The cheat detection and banning mechanism of the company allowed the system to follow cheaters in real time and ban users who used unlawful methods. Krafton had removed over 35 lakh accounts to make the BGMI battleground a fair-playing ground. The bans are also permanent, which means that those accounts cannot be used again.

Krafton said in a statement, “Battlegrounds Mobile India will strive to implement strong sanctions with the ultimate goal of eradicating the use of illegal programmes in order to provide you a pleasant gaming environment.”

The company earlier introduced a permanent device ban policy to eliminate the use of illegal programs in the India-exclusive battle royale game. Under this new policy, a mobile device will be permanently banned from using BGMI if the use of illegal programs is detected.
