Qualcomm announces partnerships with Meta and Bose to deliver unparalleled customer experiences

Qualcomm Technologies and Meta Platforms have announced a multi-year agreement to collaborate on a new era of spatial computing powered by Snapdragon extended reality (XR) platforms and technologies for the Meta Quest platform. The companies have worked together on cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) innovations for over seven years, most recently with Meta Quest 2, and this agreement solidifies the mutual commitment to deliver multiple generations of premium devices and experiences powered by custom VR platforms in the years to come.
“By partnering with Meta, we are bringing together two of the world’s metaverse leaders to revolutionize the future of computing for billions of people in the coming years,” said Cristiano Amon, president and chief executive officer, Qualcomm Incorporated. “Building off our joint leadership in XR, this agreement will allow our companies to deliver best-in-class devices and experiences to transform how we work, play, learn, create and connect in a fully realized metaverse.”
“We're working with Qualcomm Technologies on customized virtual reality chipsets -- powered by Snapdragon XR platforms and technology -- for our future roadmap of Quest products,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Founder and CEO, Meta. “As we continue to build more advanced capabilities and experiences for virtual and augmented reality, it has become more important to build specialized technologies to power our future VR headsets and other devices. Unlike mobile phones, building virtual reality brings novel, multi-dimensional challenges in spatial computing, cost, and form factor. These chipsets will help us keep pushing virtual reality to its limits and deliver awesome experiences.”
Qualcomm Technologies and Bose also highlighted their continued collaboration and longstanding relationship during Cristiano Amon’s opening keynote. Bose is integrating Qualcomm wireless voice and music platforms across their portfolio of premium earbuds, headphones, speakers and soundbars. The two companies have a long history of collaboration to deliver premium listening experiences.
Bose will incorporate Qualcomm S5 Audio SoCs into future wireless audio devices, utilizing powerful processing and low-power capabilities to support the rich user experiences consumers want most, for music, calls, gaming, and more. The Qualcomm S5 Audio platforms are designed to elevate audio enjoyment by supporting ultra-low power performance for all-day use and robust high-performance wireless connectivity.
“Bose is undoubtedly one of the most iconic brands in audio and I’m proud to see our long-standing relationship continue to grow,” said Cristiano Amon, president and chief executive officer, Qualcomm Incorporated. “Bose has an incredibly robust and competitive product roadmap that will leverage our most premium audio and connectivity platforms to bring to market their most innovative audio devices ever.”
“Bose and Qualcomm Technologies have collaborated closely for many years to implement solutions that raise the bar for consumer audio experiences,” said Lila Snyder, chief executive officer, Bose. “And as we build on this important relationship, we’ll continue working together to push the limits of what’s possible for our products and technologies to bring people more enjoyment from their music and content than ever before.”
