Eduvanz announces the appointment of Simrata Gujral as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer

Eduvanz has appointed Simrata Gujral as the chief legal and compliance officer, effective March 2, 2022. At Eduvanz, Simrata will be working closely with the leadership team to scale up and reinforce the company’s legal and compliance capabilities.
Simrata joins Eduvanz from KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Rogers & Co.) where, in addition to transactional support, she was primarily responsible for putting in place governance standards for the Indian franchise and portfolio companies. Simrata has over 15 years of experience in the Banking & Financial Services sector having worked with Citibank, Deutsch Bank, ANZ, and JP Morgan. As an in-house counsel Simrata has worked across business segments and product suites including Retail Banking, Private Banking, Trade, Treasury, Corporate and Investment Banking, and Investor Services functions., and has also been responsible for entity-wide issues on human relations, technology, etc.
Simrata joins Eduvanz from Kohlberg Kravis Rogers & Co. wherein she was enacted as the primary contact for Legal and compliance for the India investment team and the global legal team. Simrata has close to 18 years of experience in the Banking & Financial Services sector having worked with Citibank, Deutsch Bank, ANZ and J P Morgan, where she managed a team of lawyers, responsible for servicing the Trade, Treasury, Corporate, Investment Banking and Investor Services functions. As an in-house counsel Simrata has worked across business segments, product suites and entity wide issues on human relations, technology etc.
Born in Delhi, Simrata graduated in Economics from Sri. Venkateswara College and pursued LLB from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University.
