Indian Railways to integrate RailOne with Bharat Taxi to ease last-mile travel
In a move aimed at improving passenger convenience, Indian Railways is planning to integrate its RailOne mobile application with Bharat Taxi to provide seamless last-mile connectivity from New Delhi Railway Station. The initiative is being developed in collaboration with RailTel and is expected to ease congestion outside station premises while offering travellers a more reliable transport option.
The integration is part of Indian Railways’ broader push to enhance the overall travel experience by leveraging digital platforms. Officials said the feature will enable passengers arriving at or departing from the station to directly access taxi services through the RailOne app, reducing the need to search for transport upon arrival.
Easing Congestion and Improving Passenger Experience
Railway authorities believe the move will help address the long-standing issue of overcrowding and confusion outside major railway stations, particularly in high-traffic hubs like New Delhi. By offering a pre-integrated taxi booking option, passengers will be able to plan their onward journey in advance, minimising wait times and uncertainty.
The RailOne app, currently available on both Android and iOS platforms, is being positioned as a one-stop digital solution for railway passengers. The addition of last-mile connectivity services is expected to further strengthen its utility and adoption among travellers.
Promoting Cooperative Mobility Solutions
Bharat Taxi, launched on February 5 by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, is India’s first cooperative-based taxi service. The platform has been designed to promote a cooperative economic model while ensuring transparency and fair pricing for users.
The integration with RailOne aligns with the government’s broader vision of combining digital innovation with inclusive economic initiatives. By linking railway services with a cooperative transport network, the initiative aims to create a more structured and passenger-friendly mobility ecosystem.
The development also reflects Indian Railways’ increasing focus on technology-driven solutions to streamline operations and enhance commuter satisfaction, particularly in urban transit hubs where last-mile connectivity remains a key challenge.
