Prime Minister Modi to Lead Global AI Summit in India

Confirming the details, S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said the summit will bring together global policymakers, technology leaders, scientists, and academics from over 100 countries, with invitations sent to nearly 140 nations. Notably, India has also extended a formal invitation to China, signalling a cautious thaw in bilateral engagement in the technology domain.

Several global technology leaders have confirmed or are expected to attend, including Bill GatesDario AmodeiDemis HassabisShantanu NarayenMarc Benioff, and Jensen Huang. Other participants include Cristiano Amon and Raj Subramaniam, alongside more than 50 CEOs and founders and over 100 senior academics.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the AI Impact Expo on February 16, host a gala dinner for global tech leaders on February 18, and attend the formal summit opening and leaders’ plenary on February 19. A ministerial meeting of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence will follow on February 20.

An innovation festival showcasing social and creative AI applications will begin on February 15 at Connaught Place, with nearly 800 parallel AI events and over 1.5 lakh attendees expected nationwide during summit week.
