Jack Ma warns technology could result in a new world war
By MYBRANDBOOK
Next 30 Years are going to be Painful, Ali Baba Chairman Jack Ma, talks about the fears with regards to the technology in the future, as every technology revolution cased social instability and lead humans to war. Technological innovation is a primary factor behind global conflicts.
Jack Ma said, I know nothing about tech or marketing-this is the secret to my success in Alibaba, which has a market capitalization of about $420 billion. Currently, Ma is worth $36.5 billion, as per Forbes.
Ma suggests to spend time on your customers, on your people, on your teams. Don't spend time on your competitors or investors. When you spend time on the people you serve, when they're happy - you win. Ma said that history shows technological innovation is a primary factor behind global conflicts.
So what does he know that’s made him successful? “I only know about people.”
“The first world war was because of the first technology revolution,” he said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “The second technology revolution caused the second world war”. This is the third technology revolution - we’re coming,” Ma said..
It’s not the first time the business leader has made such a warning, however. In 2017, he made a similar comment, saying that developments in machine learning and artificial intelligence were likely to result in World War III.
“Everything we do as a founder: Make your customer happy. Get your team. Make your team happy. And you will be happy,” Ma said.
Ma believes technology is “great” for humanity, but he added that not being evil was “not enough.” I’m a believer that technology is great for human beings, and as a technical company, don’t be evil is not enough.
Lastly, Ma said, you should do good things for the world, do good things for the future and believe in young people.
