Momentum 2.0 app makes Delhi Metro travel easier
By MYBRANDBOOK
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched the Momentum 2.0 Delhi Sarthi app, a major update aimed at enhancing the overall experience for metro users. This new app allows commuters to use their smartphones as virtual smart cards, replacing the need for physical metro cards and simplifying the ticketing process.
The Momentum 2.0 app functions as a digital wallet, enabling users to purchase metro tickets without maintaining a minimum balance. Unlike traditional metro cards, which require at least Rs 50, the app allows passengers to easily recharge their wallets using credit/debit cards or UPI. Users can also buy multiple journey QR tickets, making the process faster and more efficient.
The app allows commuters to bypass long queues at ticket counters, especially useful during busy hours. By purchasing tickets directly through the app, passengers can save time and avoid crowds.
A standout feature of the app is its locker rental service. Commuters can rent lockers at metro stations, providing a secure place to store personal belongings while traveling, ensuring a hassle-free commute.
The app serves as a comprehensive resource for metro-related information. It helps users locate the nearest metro stations, check train timings, and access maps of the entire metro network, making it easier to plan their journeys.
In addition to metro ticketing, the Momentum 2.0 app offers several other services. Users can book bike taxis, including women’s bike taxis, purchase event tickets, book IRCTC train tickets, and even recharge their mobiles. The app also includes games to entertain commuters during their wait.
The app, available on both Android and iOS, features an easy-to-navigate interface suitable for all users, whether they travel regularly or occasionally.
Commuters can download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, create an account using their mobile number, and set up a profile. After recharging their digital wallet, they can purchase QR tickets, generate them for travel, and scan the QR code at entry and exit points at metro stations for smooth access.
With the introduction of the Momentum 2.0 Delhi Sarthi app, DMRC is revolutionizing the way commuters interact with the metro system. This initiative leverages modern technology to make commuting more convenient, cashless, and efficient, while also improving safety and security for passengers. As the app becomes fully operational, it is expected to greatly enhance the daily travel experience for Delhi’s metro users.
