WhatsApp Web login becomes easy without logging in to Android, iPhone devices
By MYBRANDBOOK
The web login of WhatsApp has become easy. Previously, users had to login in with their phone every time for using WhatsApp Web on their desktop. This inconvenience now goes away with the Multi-device feature that now comes out of the beta programme. For the Android and iOS devices the feature is now rolling out.
With this feature, users can leverage the benefits of WhatsApp to PC even if the smartphone is not online. For this, users need to opt for the multi-device feature and scan the QR code. Until user logout of that PC, the WhatsApp account will be reflected on the browser. It works even better with the WhatsApp for Desktop app on Windows 10, Windows 11, and macOS Monterey.
WhatsApp Web multi-device login out of beta now
The Multi-device connection feature was limited to users in beta only for now. Users had to opt-in for the beta program before trying it out on WhatsApp Web. Now, this opt-in process goes out and users can now directly have their WhatsApp account reflected on up to four devices together. Note that the user's WhatsApp Web account will stay logged in for 14 days only, after which the user will need to scan the QR code again.
There are limitations
While the feature works on Android devices as advertised, it is not the same with iOS devices. With Android devices, after linking users can delete messages and threads from the Web portal. On iOS, that is not the case. That said, users can delete messages in the beta mode on iPhones.
Then there is the case of tablets and other smartphones, none of which support this feature. Users can only login to WhatsApp Web for now on PCs. Technically, users can use WhatsApp Web on tablets to login but the experience is unpolished.
