Among many Indian students who were stuck in the various parts of the world, as Indian government had barred the entry of overseas citizens of India from March 13, the daughter of actor and singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi had a tough time.
Kaveri Kapur, who was studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, was stuck in the US for over six days trying to get a flight back to India where her mother was waiting with bated breath.
In an interview with a newspaper, Suchitra mentioned that Kaveri’s college had shutdown on March 10 and she had been living with family-friends in Boston. The veteran singer added that the students were asked to vacate their dormitories 10 days back itself but there was no immediate way of return to India.
She explained, “She was stuck for just six days, but it felt like a year. But the government has been amazingly supportive. We constantly got responses to all our queries. I also want to thank our doctors, airline and security personnel and everyone else working round the clock to keep India safe.”
The singer confirmed about her daughter’s good health also said that, Kaveri was also tested at the airport and that she is taking due precautionary measures and has gone under self-quarantine.
