Driving National & Enterprise Transformation
Our IT strategy is built to scale with the business and to advance the country's broader transformation goals. As the organization expands across rail, terminals and mining, we have invested in modular, cloud-based platforms and shared data services so new operations can onboard quickly rather than building from scratch. Digitally integrating the value chain from mine to railhead to port supports national ambitions to become a competitive logistics and export hub and to diversify the economy beyond traditional sectors. 

We prioritize local content, partnering with domestic technology providers and developing homegrown talent to strengthen the digital economy. Sustainability is embedded too: smart energy and emissions monitoring align with national decarbonization targets. In short, our technology roadmap mirrors both our growth trajectory and the nation's strategic direction.

 

Data-Backed Investments & Operational Metrics
We have moved IT governance from a compliance exercise to an outcome engine. A cross functional governance board now prioritizes investments against business value and every initiative carries defined KPIs linked to operational metrics train availability, terminal throughput and tonnes moved per hour. We adopted COBIT and ITIL practices for transparency with quarterly benefits-realization reviews that track whether projects actually deliver promised savings or productivity.

Portfolio dashboards give leadership real-time visibility into spend, risk and progress, so we can reallocate quickly when value is not materializing. We also tightened demand management to cut shadow IT and duplication. The result is measurable: faster delivery, fewer cost overruns and IT decisions defended by data rather than opinion, directly connecting technology investment to safety, reliability and margin.

 

Augmenting Capability through Responsible AI
Preparing our people for AI is as much about mindset as skills. We launched an AI literacy program so employees at every level understand what the technology can and cannot do, complemented by deeper technical training for engineers and analysts through partnerships with universities and vendors. Rather than replacing roles, we are augmenting them giving control room teams predictive insights, equipping maintenance crews with AI-driven diagnostics and putting copilot tools in the hands of office staff.

We have built internal data and analytics capability by hiring specialists and creating clear career pathways so talent grows with us. Change management is central: we involve frontline workers early, address concerns openly and embed a culture of responsible, ethical AI use.
