An effective IT strategy should act as both a growth engine for the organization and a contributor to national priorities.
Supporting NRAIL's growth ambitions
As NRAIL is planning for new expansion in Dahej for a new green field project, which would represent a 46% jump over FY24-25 levels. Nrail this is being driven by a landmark capacity expansion, it aims to set up India's first greenfield packaging board plant with 0.5 million TPA capacity.
For IT to support this growth, it must do three things at scale. First, an integrated ERP platform gives leadership real time visibility across the Vapi, Sarigam and Dahej plants, tracking production throughput, raw material (waste paper, FBB) procurement, and order fulfilment. Second, OT/IT integration and predictive maintenance that accelerate the ramp-up from there to optimal utilisation. Third, CRM and demand analytics help Nrail capitalize on its unique geographic advantage, much of the paperboard demand growth is coming out of western India, while most Indian paperboard manufacturers are located in eastern India. Nrail, IT driven market intelligence turns that proximity into a proactive sales edge.
Aligning with national priorities
Nrail's business model is itself a national asset in several ways, and IT amplifies each.
Make in India & import substitution, Initiatives like Make in India and GST reforms are bolstering demand for advanced packaging infrastructure. Pitch Book Growing demand for packaging from e-commerce, food, FMCG, textiles, and pharmaceutical sectors augurs well for the company. Nrail IT systems that enable faster order-to-delivery cycles and consistent quality directly support India's ambition to reduce dependence on imported packaging board.
Digital India & Industry 4.0, The PLI scheme aligns with national goals like Atmanirbhar Bharat and India's vision of a $5 trillion economy, fueling the Make in India movement by reviving domestic manufacturing at scale.
Optimizing IT Investments
Maximizing the value and resilience of IT investments requires a disciplined approach that balances innovation with risk management. Moving couple of workload from on prem to Cloud, legacy security with AI to reduced risk and improve performance with minimum manpower and all, achieved here in great ways.
