Zoom to no longer function on some iPhones from March

Zoom advises users to update to iOS 13 or higher in order to maintain access, as it will no longer support some iPhone models running iOS 11 and iOS 12. Since the out-of-date iOS versions are incompatible with the newest features, the move is in line with the evolving security standards. In addition, Zoom suggested installing new software right away to guarantee continuous operation beyond March.

The decision to drop support for these older iOS versions may not be surprising, considering that iOS 11 was introduced in 2017 and iOS 12 followed in 2018. With the rapid pace of technological advancements, it's becoming increasingly common for companies to phase out support for older operating systems.

For individuals still using devices running on iOS 11 or 12, it's now imperative to contemplate upgrading to a supported version of iOS. Failure to do so could result in the inability to access future Zoom updates and features.

The latest Zoom update introduces a new "All Screens Mode" feature allowing hosts to request all participants to share their screens simultaneously. This mode provides a side-by-side view of participants and their shared desktops, simplifying proctoring. Hosts can also permit participants to view all shared desktops. Admins can control this feature at the account and group levels. Additionally, hosts can enable it for individual meetings.

Other notable features include enhanced Waiting Room customization options for admins, allowing automatic movement of participants when hosts leave and return. For webinars, attendees can now view Q&A submissions from before they joined, provided Zoom app version 5.17.0 or higher is used.
