Ravi Shankar Prasad is the Union Minister holding Law and Justice and Ministry of Information Technology (India) portfolio in the Government of India. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Prasad represents the state of Bihar as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He is also a designated senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India. Prasad leads the Digital India campaign under his department and is a strategic call to embrace the opportunity for India as one of the leaders in the third industrial revolution, and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) that has never been greater.
Mr. Prasad is working in line with the vision of Prime Minister Modi, has given 3-step mantra: Reform, perform and transform and special focus on the Digi Gaon project is a government project that seeks to leverage WiFi technology as an alternative to broadband, through a programme that will enable the delivery of services like health and education through with the help of technology in villages, driven initially through free WiFi in gram panchayats and has been contributing to the vision of Prime Minister on Digital India through e- governance.
